- Please use the safety walkways at all times.
- Please report to Reception or the Transport Office immediately on arrival.
- Park in the designated HGV waiting area unless directed otherwise.
- Present valid delivery or collection paperwork.
- Await further instructions from a member of our yard or loading team before moving the vehicle.
The following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when outside your vehicle on site:

✅ Vest must be worn and zipped-up while on site
✅ Steel toe cap boots are mandatory
✅ Required when in loading/unloading areas
✅ Gloves are required during any manual handling operations
⚠️ Note: If you do not have the required PPE, you may be refused entry to the site.
Speed limit is 5 mph across the entire site.
No unauthorised access to buildings or machinery areas.
Remain in your cab unless instructed otherwise by Somerlap staff.
Follow all signage and instructions from staff at all times.
Mobile phones are prohibited while driving on site.
Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas. Please see site map for designated smoking/vaping area.
Dash cams must be switched off while on site – this is to protect customer confidentiality and comply with our privacy policy.
Only Somerlap-trained personnel may operate forklift trucks or other loading equipment.
Please engage your handbrake and switch off the engine during loading/unloading.
Do not climb onto the vehicle unless you have a fall arrest system in place or are in a designated safe access zone. Somerlap have a safety ladder for your use if needed to gain access to your vehicle.
Always check and secure your load before leaving.
Raise the alarm immediately by notifying the nearest member of staff.
Evacuation Point: Main entrance gate.
Fire extinguishers and first aid kits are located throughout the site.
All incidents or near-misses must be reported to site management.
Ensure all paperwork is signed before departing.
Double-check that your load is safe, legal, and secure.
Respect local traffic and environmental policies when leaving the site.
